Apex Legends is looking for a Senior Technical Experience Designer to join us in expanding the Apex Universe at our growing location in Madison, Wisconsin. Reporting to the Lead Technical Experience Designer, you will work in a cross-functional team to implement and drive player-facing UI features, and help shape the tools and workflows used to create UI for Apex Legends.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the UI team and across departments to implement player-facing features and systems that align with technical best practices, gameplay goals, and accessibility standards
Own all aspects of technical UI implementation: script logic, data structure, and layout
Work with UX designers and UI artists to stand up functionality, give design feedback, and implement pixel-perfect layout and animation
Iterate on and refine features based on playtesting, design requirements, and creative direction
Leverage your technical perspective to help producers and directors estimate and prioritize work, and coordinate collaboration across disciplines
Work with UI engineers to help inform direction of tools and engine capabilities
Requirements:
5+ years of professional game development experience
Computer science fundamentals and scripting experience (Lua, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
A demonstrated passion for UI/UX
A strong attention to detail and a keen eye for polish
A collaborative and inclusive attitude with the ability to listen, ask questions, learn, and adapt
A solid understanding of UX principles, layout, motion, and visual fidelity
Located near or willing to relocate near Madison, WI
Nice To Have:
Experience with C++
Experience with large code bases
Experience with UI frameworks: UMG, Unity UI, Coherent, Scaleform, ImGui, WPF, Qt
Experience working in a multiplayer live service environment
Interest in accessibility and developing inclusive player experiences
