Job Summary

The Program Administrator, Sr manages activities of the Center of Excellence in Digital Game Development at RPI, also known as the Digital Gaming Hub, administered through the Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences Program in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. The Program Administrator, Sr is responsible for supervision and management of tasks related to the Hub’s mission, including community management, outreach, events planning and execution, assessment and reporting, and program development. The Administrator supports, initiates, and manages interactions and relations with internal and external partners, including industry partners, community organizations, economic development agencies, funding source, and not-for-profit agencies, research labs, and other stakeholders in the games and digital media ecosystem. The Administrator works with School of HASS Administration and staff, faculty, and other campus offices to plan and execute the Hub’s programs; manage procurement and subcontract processes; prepare grant reports; and develop professional opportunities for students pursuing career paths in games.

This is a grant funded position.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in game design, digital media, communications, or a related field

Three (3) or more years of directly related experience.

Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with event planning

  • Experience with grant-funded projects

  • Experience with coordinating collaborative projects

  • Experience in the field of games, either academic or industry

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives

  • Ability to use social media and related websites/software

  • Strong time management skills

  • Strict attention to detail

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

  • Proficiency with office software

Preferred Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Competency in budget management, procurement, travel, and reporting processes

  • Competency in public relations and public outreach

  • Understanding of the games industry, including different sectors such as large publishers, independents, and educational/serious games

  • Understanding of game production and competency in mentoring or supporting small game development teams

Shift

Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required

Travel

Occasional overnight travel may be required(10% or less)

Driving

Driving a personal vehicle for non-passenger use

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: $55,500 - $65,000
