Red Rover Interactive is an exciting new game development studio founded by industry veterans from renowned companies such as Funcom, Lockwood Publishing, Bohemia Interactive, Ubisoft Reflections, and more. The Role:

As a Senior Environment Artist at Red Rover Interactive, you will be a key creative force in shaping the visual identity of our games. Your expertise will be instrumental in crafting environments and that transport players to new realms and enhance their overall gaming experience.

In this role, you will contribute to the creation of visually striking and immersive in-game environments, from concept to final implementation. You will collaborate with a team of artists, designers, and Art Direction to create level layouts from a visual perspective, while maintaining a smooth gameplay flow. Additionally, you will:

  • Design & Create Modular Interior sets and architecture in collaboration with Concept Artist and Art Direction to create the very foundations of the players world.

  • Design landscapes, flora, and props that contribute to the overall ambiance and storytelling of the game.

  • Ensure a high level of visual consistency and quality throughout the game environments.

  • Create high-quality 3D models, textures, shaders, and lighting to achieve realistic and engaging game worlds.

  • Create technical clean and efficient Hard surface Midpoly

  • Optimize environment assets for performance while maintaining visual fidelity.

  • Work closely with artists, designers, and developers to ensure seamless integration of environment assets into the game engine.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior artists, fostering a culture of creative collaboration and excellence.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Environment Artist in the gaming industry, with a portfolio showcasing successful environment designs and Level layouts.

  • Proficiency in industry-standard 3D modelling, texturing, and rendering software.

  • Strong artistic skills and attention to detail.

In addition, we expect you to have:

  • A degree in fine arts, digital arts, or a related field is preferred.

  • Extensive experience in environment design for game development.

  • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of the importance of environment art in creating immersive player experiences.

  • For a position at our Newcastle office, you must possess the legal right to work in the UK. Similarly, to be eligible for a position in our Oslo office, one must have the requisite work permissions in Norway (i.e. be an EU national).
