Red Rover Interactive is an exciting new game development studio founded by industry veterans from renowned companies such as Funcom, Lockwood Publishing, Bohemia Interactive, Ubisoft Reflections, and more. We're on a mission to reimagine the multiplayer gaming landscape, with an emphasis on crafting groundbreaking survival experiences that champion player agency and drama.

The Role:

As a Senior Concept Artist at Red Rover Interactive AS, you will be a key contributor to the visual development of our games, bringing characters, environments, and hard surface elements to life. Your artistic vision and expertise will help define the unique and captivating worlds our players will explore.

In this role, you will be tasked with creating visually stunning and imaginative concept art for characters, environments, and hard surface elements. You will collaborate closely with art directors, game designers, and developers to bring concepts to life and develop captivating and memorable character designs that align with the game's narrative and visual style. You will be expected to iterate on character designs based on feedback from the art team and other stakeholders. Additionally, you will:

  • Design breathtaking and immersive environments that enhance the overall gaming experience.

  • Create detailed hard surface drawings for in-game assets, ensuring visual consistency and realism.

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of concept art into the game development pipeline.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior artists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and artistic excellence.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Concept Artist in the gaming industry, with a portfolio showcasing character, environment, and hard surface concept art.

  • Proficiency in digital art tools such as Photoshop and other relevant software.

  • Strong drawing and illustration skills, with a keen eye for form, color, and composition.

In addition, we expect you to have:

  • A degree in fine arts, illustration, or a related field is preferred.

  • Extensive experience in character design, environment design, and hard surface drawing for game development.

  • Willingness to incorporate new ai tools and to be creative about workflows to efficiently produce production content

  • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of visual storytelling in the context of game design.

  • For a position at our Newcastle office, you must possess the legal right to work in the UK. Similarly, to be eligible for a position in our Oslo office, one must have the requisite work permissions in Norway (i.e. be an EU national).
