Subscription Optimization Specialist

San Mateo, CA (hybrid)

Our team operates within the ‘Services Commercial’ group who are dedicated to driving growth and engagement of PlayStation’s subscription services. This wider group strives to maximize new subscriber acquisition, improve subscriber retention, and provide a compelling reason for people to return to the service year after year. Our core product, PlayStation Plus, is critically important to PlayStation’s vision and strategy.

This role reports into the Subscription Optimization team who are responsible for delivery, execution, Go-to-Market organization and optimization of processes, campaigns and initiatives across the ‘Services Commercial’ group.

The successful candidate will support the operational delivery of plans to drive growth from the PlayStation Plus subscriber base - driving new acquisitions, upgrades of subscribers, engagement, and mitigating downgrades. You will be required to work with Services Trading and Insights teams to roll out activity with collaboration across a wide range of global teams outside of Services including Operations, Marketing, Product, CEM and many more.

The candidate will also be responsible for optimizing operational processes, maximizing campaign impact, finding efficiencies in timelines and delivery, and driving collaboration across PlayStation. They will work creatively to ensure the business can move swiftly to take advantage of commercial opportunities.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Coordinating the delivery of customer-facing activity and offers

  • Spearheading campaign launches focused on enhancing customer conversion and engagement, with iterative refinements based on data insights.

  • Employ project management techniques: briefing, organizing and managing the delivery of tactical and strategic projects – for both mass-market and targeted audiences

  • Maintain transparent communication with all stakeholders and proactively resolve issues to ensure seamless campaign execution and cohesive customer experiences.

  • Continuously monitoring and optimizing campaign performance

  • Monitor campaign performance through key metrics such as click-through rates, conversion rates and other relevant data to identify areas for improvement.

  • Continuously assess and optimize always-on campaigns, ensuring they optimally support the subscriber lifecycle and GTM strategies.

  • Develop and implement targeted audience segmentation strategies to tailor campaigns for specific customer attributes, enhancing relevancy and impact.

  • Effectively prioritize activity to optimize resources across the department

  • Strategically allocate and handle resources to ensure timely execution of GTM campaigns across various stages and touch points.

  • Host quarterly campaign planning sessions to secure the correct resource allocation from supporting teams to deliver those initiatives

  • Drive collaboration across functional teams including marketing, insights, operations, product and customer service to ensure flawless integration and execution of GTM initiatives.

  • Actively engage with stakeholders across the organization to align GTM strategies with broader business goals and customer expectations.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of experience

  • Excellent project management skills with attention to detail

  • Strong communicator and collaborator to rally teams together behind initiatives

  • Strong organizational skills, structured thinker with the ability to lead and prioritize multiple requests at the same time

  • Aim to improve on existing processes and not accept ‘good enough’ or ‘the norm’

  • A tenacity to understand your product, not just how customers use it, but how the technology works behind the scenes

  • Solution focused and problem-solving attitude

  • Bonus: An understanding of Gaming or Subscriptions customers and their needs

  • Bonus: Some experience with Adobe Analytics and/or Tableau

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role is eligible for SIE’s top-tier benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program and coveted employee discounts for Sony products. The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$92,600—$139,000 USD
