Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC seeks a Sr. Animator in Los Angeles, CA to collaborate with our animation and game directors to create characters that are visually stunning.

Requires a Bachelorโ€™s degree in any field or equivalent, plus five (5) years of experience designing imaginative and visually stunning virtual worlds for video games.

Prior experience must include five (5) years of experience working with animation techniques, key-frame skills, and motion capture-driven animation principles and pipelines; utilizing hand and motion capture animation techniques to create animations of primary and secondary characters, and using specialized human locomotion systems; using motion capture performance data, motion capture editing, graphic design software including Maya, Motion Builder, and body and facial performance capture pipelines to develop compelling props and characters; working with classic animation principles, including staging, timing, anticipation, follow through, exaggeration, squash, and stretch to create a full range of life-like performances; training, supervising, mentoring, and providing feedback to other animators; designing and developing animation best practices; working with producers to ensure timeliness of asset delivery, to track progress of projects, and to make sure deadlines are met; planning and directing of motion capture shoots; and, conducting scripting in Maya and Python.
