Senior Technical Project Manager

PlayStation is looking for a talented Technical Project Manager interested in pushing the limits of streaming technology. As the leaders of game streaming, the Core team is responsible for developing the protocol and technology that powers PlayStation Now.

As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you are able to drive multiple projects, working with various teams both internal and external, to deliver on time and on budget. You are extremely detail oriented and organized, and ensure that all teams are developing at their peak capacity. Your technical skills allow you to understand technical deep dives. Our ideal candidate has a strong technical background with the people skills to tie it all together.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all project and task work is aligned with the organization’s roadmap and vision
  • Choose appropriate project management methodology based on team goals and requirements and apply it effectively
  • Hold engineers accountable during the entire software development life cycle
  • Work with engineers to deliver quality software within schedule constraints
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to provide alignment between teams
  • Equip engineers with tools and information to be successful
  • Report project status and risks to project stakeholders
  • Work with internal and external teams to coordinate dependencies and deliveries

Requirements

  • BS in a technical field or 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong multitasking skills capable of coordinating teams in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of project management tools
  • Deep understanding of the software development life cycle

Pluses

  • Experience working with client/server architecture
  • Video encoding/decoding experience
  • Network experience with UDP protocols
  • JavaScript experience
  • Experience developing on mobile platforms (Android or iOS)
  • Avid gamer
