Senior Analyst, Vendor Management

San Diego, CA

Overview: This role will be responsible for overseeing the selection, evaluation, and performance monitoring of IT and Engineering vendors. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to ensure vendors meet company standards and deliver high-quality goods and services. The Senior Vendor Management Analyst will work closely with various departments and stakeholders to maintain strong vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Vendor Evaluation and Selection:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of potential vendors

  • Develop and implement vendor selection criteria and processes

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify vendor requirements and expectations

Contract Management:

  • Help negotiate contract terms, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations

  • Work with the contract renewals team to ensure contracts are renewed in a timely way through various approval mechanisms

Performance Monitoring:

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for vendor performance

  • Conduct regular vendor performance reviews

  • Address and resolve vendor performance issues and disputes

Relationship Management:

  • Maintain strong, positive relationships with strategic and preferred vendors

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor-related inquiries and issues

  • Facilitate effective communication between vendors and internal stakeholders

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor relationships

  • Develop and implement risk management strategies and contingency plans

  • Ensure vendors adhere to company standards and ethical practices

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve vendor management processes and procedures

  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

  • Lead initiatives to streamline procurement activities and reduce costs

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyse vendor data to identify trends, opportunities, cost effectiveness and areas for improvement

  • Prepare and present reports on vendor performance, cost savings, and other relevant metrics

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role

    • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders across multiple geographies and functional specialisms

  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

    • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills

    • Proficiency in vendor management software and procurement tools

    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure

    • Knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements

    • Broad understanding of current technologies

    • Highly proficient reporting and presenting of data to senior management

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. $127,000—$190,600 USD
