Announced by Nintendo in January 2019, Retro Studios is currently in the midst of developing Metroid Prime 4 for the Nintendo Switch.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Manages IT projects and department staff in day-to-day work.
Department Management
Manages the IT team and works with stakeholders to configure, deploy, and maintain desktop & datacenter systems and other equipment for the studio.
Manages the IT Team and works with stakeholders to identify, deploy, and maintain studio information services.
Manages the IT Team to deploy and maintain physical and electronic security and respond to security incidents.
Manages and documents all aspects of the IT department and infrastructure including network administration, server administration, applications, services, and databases.
Manages the deployment of development infrastructure to external vendors.
Coordinates with the Director of Planning to understand the Studioโs evolving needs.
Personnel Management
Handles performance evaluations, bonus reviews, and any necessary disciplinary plans for direct reports.
Makes recommendations for promotions of individuals within the team.
Responsible for having one-on-one meetings with team members to understand their career goals.
Project Management
Creates project plans and directs projects and programs as determined by the priorities of the Studio.
Identifies, implements, and manages processes to help the IT team to troubleshoot all user problems and requests efficiently and effectively.
Assists the Director of Planning with the IT budgeting process including monitoring budgets and expenses within the IT department.
Advise on policies and develop processes to enforce the Information Management Policies of the studio.
Stakeholder Relations
Continually evaluates the IT needs of the studio to ensure that processes and systems are maintained.
Proposes improvements to the IT infrastructure to align with studio goals.
Interacts with management, peers, and vendors to build and enhance positive relationships.
Acts as an individual contributor as needed by the team or circumstances.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:
Eight+ years of IT experience, including three years managing an IT department.
Experience in proposing, planning, and executing IT projects.
Strong project management skills
Departmental budgeting experience
Experience with technologies such as AWS, Azure, Crowdstrike, VxRail, Juniper, SASE, Isilon and VMWare, Perforce.
Experience with modern video conferencing technologies
An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience required.
