Netflix is looking for an experienced Head of Live Service to join the Netflix Game Studio to help deliver the next generation of video games to a worldwide audience. This role is a part of the Game Operations team, driving design and live service optimization for our portfolio of games.

The Head of Live Service will ensure that licensed and internally developed games are designed and live operated for the service for optimal subscriber experience, however they choose to play. The role will drive deep understanding of the competitive market for high-engagement feature design and live service programs, developing and fine tuning unique metrics to evaluate game and portfolio performance on a subscription service. The role will lead a group of product managers and analysts, working with a cross functional organization at Netflix including Content Strategy and Analysis, Data Service Engineering, Platform Product, Central Tech and Game Developers.

Responsibilities:

  • Deeply understand the live service driven game category on various platforms, delivering strong competitive analysis of game designs and live service programs that generate excellent, long term player engagement
  • With the Netflix CS&A team, drive the development of metric and analytical structure for the Netflix Game Service to measure the value of game content and engagement as a part of the broader content offering on the Netflix Service
  • Partner with the DSE team to develop data analytics infrastructure for the ongoing management of games on the service
  • Partner with Game Development leadership to deliver market and competitive product analysis, providing best in class market and product analysis to support design and live service decisions and ongoing live operations management for games
  • Manage a team of product managers and analysts to effectively support internal and external game teams to develop, integrate and live operate best in class live service games

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in the gaming industry, working in analytical roles including strategy & analysis and product management, assessing ongoing performance and optimization for games in multiple categories
  • Experience working with live service games on any platform (PC, console, mobile), supporting feature development and live service over several major feature deployments
  • Deep understanding of engagement drivers in live service games
  • Experience managing teams directly and managing cross functional groups through influence
  • Continuously looking for ways to improve and iterate on existing framework, or building anew for best results
  • Passion for video games, innovations in software and how they enrich the player experience
