MZ is seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to join our Product Engineering team and work on our live games. Qualified candidates will be responsible for the planning, execution, and tracking of our feature development efforts. This role will work closely with game design/production, QA, as well as other engineering teams to build highly visible and engaging game features while optimizing the game development process, workflows, and toolset.

What you'll be doing:

  • Running standups, monitoring progress through various means (burn downs, status updates, reviews), and coordinating activities such as retrospectives and best practice meetups
  • Discovering inefficiencies in our development workflows/pipelines and driving optimizations to completion
  • Preparing status reports for senior leadership
  • Capturing meeting action items and driving follow-up
  • Identifying project risks with possible mitigation strategies then gaining consensus for moving forward
  • Owning task estimation and identifying critical path impediments
  • Becoming a product expert and main point of contact for your areas of responsibility
  • Directly leading product engineers (and indirectly other cross-functional groups) to stay on schedule
  • Facilitating cross department communications especially when there is ambiguity

Your background and who you are:

  • 5+ years of project management and/or industry experience
  • Track record of shipped iOS & Android games
  • Loves games and supporting the developers who make them
  • Strong knowledge of production methodologies including SCRUM, Waterfall, Kanban
  • Strong knowledge of Google Sheets, Jira, and other/similar project tracking tools
  • Experience with MMO’s and operating them in a Live Operations setting
  • Ability to communicate with engineers about technical subjects while being able to translate into non-technical terms for non-engineers

Bonus points:

  • Experience in writing scripts (Google Apps Script, Python, etc) highly desired
  • Bachelors of Science Computer Science preferred (but not required)
