Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced 2D Concept Artist to join our dynamic team. As a Mid-Level Concept Artist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual direction of our games, from initial concept to final production. You will work directly with the Art Director to integrate client feedback and create consistently excellent work that defines the visual aesthetic of the client’s intellectual property. Your goal will be to produce the best possible gaming assets, going above and beyond to ensure client satisfaction. If you have a passion for excellence, are an experienced Concept Artist, and are committed to enhancing the quality of games, you may be a great fit for our team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant experience.

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent concept art, focusing on photorealistic superhero and creature type characters and environment set pieces.

  • An exceptional understanding of composition, action, dynamism, and creating compelling images.

  • Able to work in a variety of styles, including photorealistic and more simplified, cartoon-like style.

  • Excellent understanding of anatomy, bodily proportions, muscles, and skeleton

  • Minimum of 3 years as a concept artist on Mobile, PC, or Console entertainment applications or games.

  • Mastery using Photoshop, or equivalent 2D art programs.

  • Work directly with the art director to integrate client feedback and meet specifications, whether style, feel, mood, etc.

  • Deliver work of a high standard while maintaining a high level of quality when working within tight deadlines.

  • Proactively identify and call out risks to production schedules or quality.

  • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of game art principles and techniques.

  • Proficiency in digital art software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent. (2D/3D Spine Animation) experience additional advantage.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of 2D concept art samples, demonstrating creativity, technical skill, and versatility.

Bonus:

  • Experience with 3D software (Maya, ZBrush, Blender, etc.)

  • Experience working on AAA game titles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the gaming industry, with a solid understanding of game development pipelines and processes.

  • Knowledge of 2D/3D Game pipeline

  • Background in traditional art mediums such as drawing, painting, or sculpture.
