Award-winning Indie VR Gaming Studio located on the beach in Santa Monica is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Social Media Community Manager to join our team! The person in this role will be a driving force behind maintaining, inspiring, strategizing, and expanding the studio’s social and online community presence. If you are a go-getter and love social media, gaming, steaming, and live events; this is the perfect position for you!
The person in this role will be responsible for the following:
- Supporting conversations on social media, in comment threads on Twitter, Discord, FB, YouTube, and Twitch
- Assisting in the continual development of studio's online community
- Create an engaging social media posts and online social campaigns
- Reply to messages on social channels and the company Discord
- Initiating positive and supportive conversations inside the community around content, contests, information, and opportunities that will be of interest to the community
- Represent the company with post/messages/tweets regarding company game launching in Fall 2018
- Organize and help initiate the company’s live stream to share with the online community
- Assist with live stream shoot set-up, execution, and editing for online delivery on company Twitch & Youtube channels
- Continually monitor engagement online and initiate ways to increase online presence
- Analyze and report community feedback internally, as well as organize information to report findings to upper management
- Engage with gamers and online community in friendly discussions regarding the game and upcoming events
- Assist with the coordination of live events alongside upper management in the studio as well as offsite
- Travel domestically occasionally
The ideal candidate will have a mix of the qualifications below:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, flexible and dependable
- A passion for games, Esports, and Twitch Streaming communities
- High comfort level with social media and online communications
- Experience managing or working with creative communities
- Experience creating, moderating, or managing forums
- Familiar with the vocabulary and high-level process of game
- Available 25 - 30 hours per week
Preference to candidates who:
- Come from a game or software development background
- Are comfortable speaking in public or being on-camera during the live stream
- Previous experience working with an Indie Game Studio
- Knowledgeable in Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, Microsoft Office Suite, Unreal Engine
