The Development Support Specialist will work closely with the Development group and the QA game team. The successful candidate will be responsible for communication with development partners and the creation of test plans to locate issues and ensure that the product meets the expectation of the product owner.

  • Own game/feature areas or large releases - provide qualitative feedback to feature and content designers.
  • Dev QA POC - delegate tasks to team members for multiple areas, as required.
  • Ownership of test planning, test case creation, bug estimates, etc.
  • Partner with project leads to continuously drive improvements, identify risks, project plan and implement QA strategies.
  • Represents QA a(feature area) when attending meetings and stand-ups.
  • Knowledge transfer of QA methods to team.
  • Assist with on-boarding of new team members; provide quality training and mentoring.
  • Ability to create and present reports to QA and development partners.
  • Maintain a tracking system for bug logs and monitor issue progress.
  • Drive the improvement and refinement of QA methods, procedures and processes.
  • Utilise in depth knowledge of the feature under ownership to drive automation, test tools and possible telemetry hooks to more efficiently verify their area.
  • Work in close partnership with development and production teams.
  • Leverage data, automation and tools to perform tasks.
  • Monitor and track game feature progress.
  • Contribute to minor adjustments of automation scripts, if necessary.
  • Contribute to testing and bug writing/reproducing.
  • Provide risk assessments for their area of ownership.
  • Provide updates to core QA on changes to the feature and input into test areas of focus.
  • Liaison as required with partnered teams.

Requirements

  • Professional QA member with industry experience - previous ownership of test/release areas.
  • Technical/domain subject matter background - diploma or degree.
  • Expert technical areas of knowledge (e.g. white-box testing, automation, analytics, audio, animation, etc)
  • Experience documenting QA methods - knowledge of test planning, writing test scripts, test cases and test briefs.
  • Understanding of automation processes and tools.
  • Project progress tracking and reporting - previous experience with bug tracking software (Jira, DevTrack, etc).
  • Subject matter expert with specialized knowledge of a feature area with a proven ability to improve overall quality and processes.
  • Ability to coordinate between different feature areas as well as development partners.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role, advantageous.
  • Ability to oversee test planning for the components of the features.
  • Task management and the ability to delegate tasks to team members.
