Into Games is a fast growth non-profit with the mission to make the videogames industry a more accessible sector for young people aged 8 to 24 to find the career of their dreams. We are an industry led organisation, working with some of the UK’s top games studios to inspire and support people who are primarily from groups that are currently underrepresented in the sector (girls, BAME, etc). We operate the Videogames Ambassador programme with UKIE, the online resources hub intogames.org and the bi-weekly game jam event, Side Quest.

We are looking for someone to work with our management team and board to help develop and implement our social media and content generation strategy. You’ll be developing partnerships with games studios, writing and recording content for our website and really driving engagement with our primary target market of 13-18 year olds.

This is a fast paced and exciting role for someone looking to cut their teeth in a brand new venture where you will have a good level of autonomy and the space to try new ideas. We are a remote team that operates in a non-hierarchical way, with everyone's voice of equal importance.

KPI’s

  1. Social channel growth (Twitter, Discord, Linkedin)
  2. Relevance and engagement of content with target audiences
  3. Regularity and quality of content generation

What you will be doing...

  • Develop relationships with studios and individual game industry professionals to curate regular content to intogames.org
  • Manage our social media channels with regular scheduled posts and uploaded content
  • Write articles for our sponsorship partners
  • Create and implement strategies for social media growth
  • Manage general comms across our different communities
  • Occasionally write and distribute press releases
  • Develop ideas for digital content and online events
  • Implement basic reporting

To do this work, you will have to...

  • Be at ease with platforms like Discord, Twitter, and Twitch
  • Know how to rapidly grow communities
  • Write and create content aimed at young people
  • To an extent, be driven by and comfortable with data
  • Be comfortable in leading and organising webinars and online forums
  • Be a creative team worker
  • Have a general familiarity of using video and graphic design tools
  • Love writing copy with top notch English skills
  • Be someone thats all about the details

These skills would be great to have:

  • A passion for games and the games industry
  • An understanding of how games are made
  • Worked in education or with young people in the past
