Your Mission

Infinity Ward is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to oversee all aspects of technology at our new Austin studio. This person will build and lead an engineering team to create the next generation of technology for the world’s premiere FPS franchise. They will inspire the team to maximize our players’ enjoyment, and they will be the face of technology for the Austin studio – both internally and to their peers across Activision. They will have full responsibility for all technology developed.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Engineering background in AAA games in the console and PC space.
  • Experience in engineering leadership of game development.
  • Deep understanding of multiple areas of development, including runtime, tooling, and online services.
  • A track record of delivering technology in a shared authoring environment.
  • Excellent and persuasive communicator, able to represent the studio in both private and public spheres.
  • The capacity to build trust in a large organization with many independent units.
  • A desire and ability to mentor and grow a team of software developers.
  • An interest in spending some portion of time hands on, building technology directly.
  • A love of games.

Player Profile

Pluses:

  • Experience growing a game engineering team from scratch.
  • Strong knowledge of C++ programming and practices.
  • Experience with Lua and Python.
  • Excellent debugging and performance analysis skills.
  • Experience architecting and debugging threaded systems.
  • Strong design sensibilities in UX and/or game design.
