We are Immortals, founded in 2015 by Noah Whinton we are an esports organization founded to be the most inclusive community in esports, offering fans, players, partners, and other stakeholders the opportunity to engage, cheer, celebrate, and interact in a safe and welcoming environment. Immortals also believes it is our duty as operators to perpetually raise the bar on issues including player treatment and diversity in esports.

Immortals is focused on building an engaged fan community, and therefore prioritizes fan engagement over raw audience size and reach. Creating a safe and entertaining environment where people can build friendships building on their love of gaming we are seeking a passionate Events Operations Manager to join our team and help bring this to life for our community.

Immortals Highlights for 2018

  • Launching two new brand:
    • LA Valiant - one of twelve flagship franchises in Blizzard's Overwatch Leagur
    • MIBR (Made in Brazil) for CS:GO, currently one of the most popular single esports team in the world
  • Reaching the Clash Royale finals in Japan, having won the North American Championship
  • Launching the first Girls in Gaming Summitt Presented by Microsoft
  • Staging a multi-city rivalry event series with the San Francisco Shock
  • Forming the first longterm charitable partnership in esports with St. Jude Childrens Research

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Planning incredible events from concept to conclusion, to thrill our community and players with a memerable experience which brings to life our vision and values
  • Financially focussed, managing events which are deliver amazing experiences which are cost effective and within budget
  • Working to enhance the event’s overall success, in collaberation with our social media teams to ensure marketing content is aligned with our brand values
  • Thinking three steps ahead, preparing special giveaways and community building events to engage, build, excite and engage our community
  • Sourcing, negotiating and managing vendors, suppliers and contractors who share our values of delivering our community the best experience cost effectively
  • Leading all promotional activities for all events, to ensure that our communities are aware and excited by our events and want to be involved.
  • Supervising all staff to ensure that everyone has a fun, safe and positively memorable experience (to include event coordinators, security, facilities etc.)
  • Ensure all events offer an incredible experience, with incredible service, having the ability to step up to resolve any issues with grace and effectiveness
  • Analyze the event’s success, assessing what went well and how we can do even better next time. With experience and passion for using qualitative and quantitative data.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Have proven experience as event manager, who is believes in building community, creating incredible events to wow the attendees, whilst remaining concious of budgets
  • Skilled in project management,with the ability to matrix manage, building relationships internally and externally
  • Knowledge and experience of working with KPIs and marketing techniques for event management, understanding the importance of using qualitative and quantative data to measure event success to build on
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to successfully negotiate
  • Understanding of project management concepts with excellent organizational skills, the ability to meet deadlines and think two steps ahead
  • A knack for problem-solving, with proven ability to remain calm, think on your feet and reach a resolution without drama
  • Goes without saying that you are customer-service orientated with a desire to deliver the best experience possible and understanding the small touches can go a long way.
  • Last but not least you must be a possitive team player, effortlessly working and collaberating with internal teams, desplaying your leadership skillsBSc/BA in PR, marketing, hospitality management or related field is preferred
