HTC Creative Labs is a product design, prototyping and incubation studio that provides design strategy for all of HTC and collaborates across our studios in Seattle, Taipei, and San Francisco to bring new designs to market. This team is responsible for much of HTC’s most significant product and experience design work over the past decade. Our current focus is on creating next generation XR software and hardware experiences for the HTC VIVE brand. We are a small, cross-functional team of designers, artists, developers, engineers and researchers with the feel of a startup. Our process relies on the collaboration of exceptionally talented individuals to create products that offer functional benefits and emotional resonance to our target audiences.

Opportunity:

Do you want to help shape the future of XR? HTC VIVE, the best-in-class VR platform, is seeking an experienced and motivated Program Manager to manage HTC’s portfolio of software experiences for VIVE. The successful individual will have experience managing product development with technical, production and UX teams, an entrepreneurial spirit, and strong direct and indirect leadership and communication capabilities.

Job responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with UX designers, UI designers, artists, product management, software development, research, testing, and support teams to develop VIVE software experiences for a variety of platforms.
  • Roadmap, scope, and deliver features for existing and new software products and platforms.
  • Create and maintain product schedules, sprint schedules, and associated product release documentation.
  • Lead the effective and efficient delivery of large complex cross-functional projects.
  • Negotiate across disciplines on behalf of user-centered design.
  • Manage project resources, schedules and deliverables to ensure high quality and on-time delivery of design work to planning and development teams.
  • Contribute to process improvement within the Creative Labs organization.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5-8 years’ professional experience in a product manager, program manager or project manager related role.
  • Excellent program management basics including: technical depth; commitment to product excellence; strong attention to detail; customer empathy; strong communication skills and formidable analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams to deliver results in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, an ability to influence design, business and technical leaders in a dynamic environment at multiple levels of an organization
  • Experience working with artists, design teams, and contributing to design efforts. Working knowledge of full end-to-end, user-centered design processes, techniques, and deliverables.
  • Self-driven and comfortable with ambiguity.

Bonus qualifications:

  • Experience with the Unity game engine.
  • Experience with VR and AR technologies.
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
  • Agency experience.
