Genvid Technologies seeks a Live Operations Manager to support its revolutionary new game broadcasting tools.

Responsibilities:

Building and overseeing the Live Operations Team, consisting of engineers and liveops developers, who are dedicated to the integration and deployment of our technology stack into various Client’s titles, and the further live support and operations of these solutions during live events and other general times. Our clients include the biggest game publishers in the world, as well as video game engine creators, game consoles, streaming platforms, indie developers, and esports tournament organizers.

Most importantly, you’ll oversee the deployment and on-going live support of these solutions in various data centers and cloud hosted environments and run mission control for live events, producing a stable experience for our clients and coordinating an orchestra of on-call engineers behind the scenes to deliver a smooth production during critical broadcasts in the face of the unknown.

You’ll work with the internal development teams to keep up to date on the latest changes to our software, communicating the needs of clients and the problems they have run into to our development teams, and providing real time feedback. You will work with QA to ensure that bugs and problems are swiftly addressed on the client’s behalf. You’ll be regularly responsible for directing the live operations of critical deployments during streamed events that require you to play traffic cop, producer, and manager for the Live Operations team to ensure a stable, world class viewer experience.

You will work with the Director of Development to understand the needs of our various partners and to provide support and knowledge. As a leadership role, you’ll additionally be responsible for leading the Live Operations Engineers in providing leadership and project management for the Live Services team.

You’ll be forward thinking, identifying improvements in our processes for supporting our clients, and always on the hunt to find new ways to level up the process for integration of our technology for clients.

You’ll provide a framework and structure to the Live Operations Engineering team, and work with their Senior Engineers to define best practices, and to craft and maintain the policies and procedures needed to ensure smooth live operations support.

You’ll identify and implement the tools, policies, and procedures required for running a world class Live Operations team (monitoring, metrics, alerting, ticketing, etc) to keep the life blood of live systems that power our partner’s platforms running smoothly 24/7/365.

Qualifications:

Working knowledge:

  • 5 years experience in live services production
  • 5 years experience in technical project management
  • Deep understanding of Operations (Cloud management, NOC ops, etc)
  • Experience with crisis management of system outages and service support
  • Ability to help engineering teams plan development across different environments.

Assets:

  • Software development experience a major bonus but not required, so long as you “speak engineer”.
  • Strong communication skills with business partners, dev teams, and stakeholders
  • Good understanding of network operations and security principles
  • Experience with cloud hosting platform management and monitoring
  • Past experience building and operating a NOC-like environment, monitoring and alerting tools is a plus.
  • Extra bonus for basic understanding of the following technologies used by the Live Ops devs (not required but a plus):
    • Terraform
    • Hashicorp’ Stack or other orchestration tech
    • Python Scripting
    • AWS Management
    • Linux and Windows Servers Administration
    • Datadog, TICK or other metrics tech
    • Elastic Stack or other logs gathering tech
