Job Description
Join our talented team as we embark on an uncharted gaming adventure! We're on the lookout for an Senior Environment Concept Artist 2D to contribute their skills to our Dungeons & Dragons® PC/console project. This innovative game will blend action-RPG/survival features with the unique elements of life-simulation games to redefine the genre and capture the imaginations of players worldwide.
Role Description
Creating compelling environments and biomes based on direction from the Art Director and input from the game design team
Crafting a unique and consistent style for a complete game world
Iterating on ideas quickly through sketches and thumbnails
Creating concepts for day-to-day production of in-game art assets
Creating amazing key art that aligns with the appropriate lore / creative direction of the game
Communicating visual ideas across teams and departments
Delivering high-quality art in a timely manner with a strong attention to detail
Mentoring Intermediate and Junior Concept Artists
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Skills
High-quality portfolio of gamedev-relevant Environment Concept Art, preferably with an emphasis on stylization
Ability to create a stunning and immersive world that captures the spirit of the D&D brand
Ability to balance creativity with function
Ability to break down complex designs into flexible kit systems
Ability to create high-quality key art that captures defining moments of the game's narrative within a single image
The ability to receive and address feedback in a timely manner
Mixture of 2D and 3D art techniques expressed through the use of modern software tools
A keen eye for landscapes, geography, and architecture
A strong understanding of color theory and how color affects mood & focal points
The ability to work well within a team
Excellent communication skills
Be proactive, self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision
