Reporting to the Art Director, the incumbent is responsible for the production of 3D visual content for video games. His/her main tasks are to create, model and texture the characters, objects and scenery of a video game. He is also responsible for following up on the tasks related to the artistic production of his project and participating in their evaluation. Finally, he/she acts as a mentor to less experienced artists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, prioritize, assign and regularly follow up on tasks and the advancement of the team’s work with regards to deliverables;
  • Be responsible for reviewing, critiquing and, when necessary, correcting work from the Art team;
  • Work with the other Leads, Project Leads and Directors, whether from the Art and Animation team or other, to ensure clear communications and good collaboration between teams;
  • Mentor less experienced artists on his team in order to help them progress.
  • Model and texture 3D elements that can include characters, environments, objects, etc.;
  • Demonstrate creativity and adaptation to different game and graphic styles;
  • Ensure quality, structure and optimization of the content;
  • Participate in the talent management review process by evaluating his/her team members’ performance when required;

Requirements:

  • College or university training in art, 3D, multimedia or any other relevant field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a team management context in the video game industry;
  • Mastery of a 3D production software (3ds Max or Maya);
  • Mastery of an image processing software such as Photoshop;
  • Knowledge of ZBrush;
  • Knowledge of Substance Painter;
  • IMPORTANT: Portfolio and/or demo (essential);
  • Link to your website will be considered an asset.
