Feral Interactive is looking for a skilled Build Tools/DevOps Engineer to join our development team. This is a central role interacting with all areas of the company, and the successful candidate will be well placed to become a key member of our games development team.

The Build Tools/DevOps Engineer is responsible for maintaining our in-house build system and developing it to increase the efficiency of production and development tasks or to assist other departments. Ideal candidates will have a demonstrably proactive attitude and a desire to seek out every opportunity to improve and streamline our systems, automating them wherever possible. Working closely with our development team, the Build Tools/DevOps Engineer ensures that all active projects can be built and deployed quickly and correctly on all required platforms, as well as troubleshooting problems encountered during building and distribution. This role requires both independent working and open and supportive communication with the development and QA teams.

This is a permanent, full time position at our studios in Wandsworth, south west London.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of one or more scripting languages, such as Perl, Python or Bash
  • Good knowledge of basic UNIX command line tools
  • Proactive problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of markup languages, like XML or JSON
  • Knowledge of C++ or Java
  • Familiarity with macOS, iOS and Android based systems
