The Social Media Executive will work within the Social and Content team to develop and execute paid and organic social media strategies for the agency’s clients.

As the Social Marketing Executive, you will be responsible for coming up with creative ideas, planning and then executing social media activity, and reporting on the activity’s results. You will use creative thinking as well as your knowledge of social media marketing to come up with new ways of continually expanding and improving campaigns.

You will work across the agency’s teams to ensure deadlines are hit and campaigns run smoothly, and will be required to liaise with Account Managers, Designers, and other team members to be successful in your role.

You will be required to measure performance and make suggestions for improvement so that the approaches adopted can remain fresh and up to date.

You will work under the supervision of two department heads, however must show initiative and a drive to get the job done. Experience of launching and running social media campaigns is essential, ideally in an agency environment. A good understanding of the different areas of digital marketing is important, particularly paid media and content marketing.

The role is full-time and based in the agencies Manchester city centre office, however you may be required to attend meetings at other locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of social media programmes for the agency’s clients
  • Use of software tools to increase audience engagement and manage activity
  • Creation and implementation of social media campaigns and competition strategies
  • Creation of content calendars for client approval
  • Content creation in line with each platform's needs
  • Creation and management of social media calendar
  • Contribute to proposals, presentations and pitch documents
  • Liaising with agency’s creative team for production of visual assets as required
  • Creation of paid social media campaigns on the main social platforms
  • Management of paid social campaigns across all key channels
  • Ensuring all deadlines are hit both internally and for our clients
  • Actively producing new ideas and contribute to the creative culture of the company
  • Analyse competitors, research best in class examples and stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and emerging platforms
  • Reporting and analysis of all activity and reporting on performance
  • Contribute written content such as blog posts to Fast Web Media and clients

Key Skills

  • Educated to degree level, preferably marketing related
  • 2 years’ experience in a social media related role
  • Proven experience of launching and running paid social media campaigns
  • Ambitious and self-starter
  • Able to work independently and use creative thinking to solve problems
  • Outspoken and an excellent communicator
  • A creative approach to social media campaigns
  • A positive attitude to work and willingness to learn
  • Software savvy, with a good head for research and analytics to gain the best outcome from our work
  • Understanding of how social media can raise awareness, drive traffic and help boost conversions
  • Excellent copywriting skills and attention to detail
