About the Opportunity

To support the continued growth of ESI, we are looking for a results driven, commercially astute and creative Events Manager to be responsible for the growth, development and management for all ESI events.

This includes full accountability for the planning and execution of ESI’s events, and ultimately for event profitability, whilst maintaining a high level of client satisfaction. With full P&L oversight, the Events Manager will deliver unique and quality events on budget while working with the MD and wider teams to drive the revenue needed for financially successful events.

With a demonstrable track record in the events industry, you should have a strong understanding of the role and value of events in supporting lead generation and sales optimisation. Your awareness, knowledge and insight of the latest event trends and innovations will be critical to success.

Responsibilities - Events Strategy (in conjunction with MD of ESI)

  • Events positioning and strategy: Vision and positioning of the events, target audience identification and segmentation, strategic scheduling, year over year growth strategy

  • Selection/approval of venues for ESI events

  • P&L oversight across all events, ensuring delivery on both revenue and costs

  • Developing the inventory of sponsorship opportunities for each event,, maximising the revenue potential of the event, and then tracking and reporting against sales milestones to drive delivery of the P&L

  • Defining the overall event positioning and aligning all elements of the event with that positioning – ensuring content plan, design plan, etc all support positioning

  • Coordinate with content and marketing teams to ensure marketing strategy and promotions are accurate, achievable and aligned with event vision

  • Develop and implement end-to-end event planning and delivery templates to ensure consistency across all events for a growing portfolio

Responsibilities - Group Events Execution:

  • Successful delivery of all ESI events

  • Budget development and tracking of spend and key deliverables for each event

  • Sourcing, selection and negotiation with suppliers (including event venues)

  • Supplier relationship management

  • ESI Events team management, and internal leadership of this department which will include regular communications with wider team members

  • Customer success: manage sponsor account relationships from the point of sale to ensure clients receive value and have high levels of satisfaction, driving renewals for future events

  • Floorplan creation with consideration for all elements of the show and all attendees’ experience

About you:

You must have:

  • Event management experience, planning and running small / medium sized events – ideally these are B2B such as conferences, briefings, trade shows/exhibitions etc

  • In depth supplier management experience, delivering consistently and on budget

  • Experience working with CRM systems or an understanding of CRM best practices

  • Experience with delegate registration management

  • Proven effectiveness in contract negotiations and cost optimization with suppliers

  • Solid understanding of and interest in the best and latest event technologies

  • Exceptional project direction and management skills, ability to manage multiple timelines, deadlines, actions in a collaborative extremely fast-paced environment

  • client management experience, confident in building relationships and pitching new ideas

It would be nice if you had:

  • Knowledge of the esports and wider gaming industry, as well as surrounding industries such as sports, tech and entertainment

  • Experience of ticketing platforms and Wordpress

  • Experience of organising events outside Europe
