This position is available as either 100% remote (ideally in or very close to Europe) - you should be in a time zone within 3 hours of of Central European (Summer) Time - or you can work at our headquarters in Cologne, Germany where many of our engineering team are situated.

As a Frontend Software Engineer at ESL you will be part of the team that builds the ESL Play App for Android & iOS (https://play.eslgaming.com/play-app), the companion app to our esports tournament platform ESL Play (https://play.eslgaming.com).

Your Future Tasks:

• Building & improving features for one of our B2C esports properties
• Planning work with your team
• Giving feedback & estimating upcoming work
• Writing tests to ensure reliability & minimize maintenance burden
• Documenting your work so others understand it
• Taking part in code reviews to continuously improve your and others work

Your profile

Must-have's:

• 2+ years of experience in frontend development
• Experience developing with at least one modern frontend framework, preferably Angular or React
• Fluent English
• Team player who enjoys working in a collaborative, open environment

Nice to have:

• University degree in Computer Science, Web Development or a related field
• Experience with UI/UX design
• Experience with any of the following:
  • Typescript
  • Angular, AngularJS, React
  • Hybrid mobile development (Ionic or similar)
  • Sass/LESS
  • Android/iOS development experience
  • UI/UX design experience
  • Continuous Integration/Delivery (preferably GitLab)
• Experience playing online games or knowledge of esports
