What We Do
Create and maintain a proactive and stable IT environment as well as provide IT support to our Epic people. You will be empowered to shape processes that deliver optimized IT service across our business. Work with emerging technologies while enabling IT success for everyone.
What You'll Do
Epic Games is looking for a technical manager to lead a mature team of 4-6 engineers and administrators in our SaaS Engineering team. Reporting through the User Engineering org, this role will partner with both business and technology teams to align technical solutions with the company’s overall objectives. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced engineer turned manager, passionate about practical problem solving, while also balancing the longer-term strategic needs of Epic Games. They will play an instrumental role in designing the roadmap for SaaS application engineering & administration. This leader will focus on team development, engaging individuals in the team, giving and receiving feedback, and building a collaborative team culture. The right person will have evidence of success in sourcing and hiring diverse candidates, practicing candor and clear communication with direct reports, growing the overall impact of their function through high performing team members.
In this role, you will
Lead the IT team responsible for managing a broad portfolio of critical SaaS apps, including Google Workspace, Slack, and more
Use your technical and strategic expertise to ensure these tools are robust, secure, and scalable
Provide support, leadership, and guidance to the team, helping them understand the team’s priorities and the impact of their work
Collaborate with cross functional customer success and outsourced support teams to evaluate and make decisions about critical enterprise tools
Partner closely with the User Engineering producer (Scrum Master / PM) to review backlog items, prioritize projects and tasks, to deliver on our commitments to the business, tracking work in a reasonable manor
Work with Business Operations for regular audits of enterprise SaaS applications to evaluate their support model and suggest improvements to system ownership and support
Partner with IT Support to ensure that escalations between support and engineering teams for systems owned in this space are consistent and scalable
Focus on strategy and vision for the team that leads us towards fully automating all workflows possible
Partner with other Tech Services teams to identify product gaps, create and implement new solutions
What we're looking for
3+ years of experience managing an IT team in SaaSOps, Collaboration Tools, Application Engineering, or similar, driving technical decisions and mentoring engineers
3+ years of hands-on experience as a SaaS application administrator or engineer
Proven experience supporting enterprise communication tools such as Google Workspace and Slack
Experience as an engineer but knows how to be a coach (not a player)
Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical teams
Ability to gather and translate requirements needed to build effective, sustainable solutions that align with the overall business and Tech Services objectives
In depth experience with public/private/hybrid cloud models, systems management, IT Operations tools and best practices
Strong technical communication and documentation skills
Familiarity with Agile work methodology
Familiarity with tracking work management in Atlassian tools
This role is open to multiple locations across the US (including WA).

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
Washington Base Pay Range
$127,314 - $186,727 USD
