Core Programmer Intern

What You'll Do
Epic Games is searching for an Engine Programmer Intern to join our Foundation Core team. In this role, you’ll work with experienced engineers to develop low-level tools and maintain our core engine libraries that all UE users use to build and ship their games, and pipelines that Epic uses internally to ship the Unreal Engine and games like Fortnite. The ideal candidate will have a love of practical problem-solving and an affinity for improving the day-to-day workflow of other developers.
In this role, you will
Improve and maintain Unreal Engine core libraries
Establish test workflows to validate correctness and prevent regressions
Develop custom tools and pipelines for other programmers or content creators
What we're looking for
Good C++ knowledge
Some knowledge about multithreaded code
Interested in low level systems and API design
Someone who is passionate, solution-oriented and proactive
This internship has a flexible start date in 2024. Recruitment will be ongoing until teams find an ideal match.
