Important Note: This team works onsite at EA Vancouver (Burnaby office). Applicants are required to work onsite 3 days, Tuesday - Thursday every week.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Technical Artist (TA), you will lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge pipelines, workflows, and technology innovations used by UFC content creators. As a senior member of a central team, you will act as a key strategic partner to our development teams, driving the creation of shared, scalable, and forward-thinking solutions. Your responsibilities will extend beyond project execution to include mentorship, setting standards, and influencing technical direction. You will take proactive ownership of the most complex technical challenges, guiding them from identification to resolution and ensuring our content creation technology remains best-in-class. You will report to an Associate Technical Art Director on the EA SPORTS UFC team. 


This role will focus on elevating our content creation capabilities by designing and implementing advanced tools, optimizing complex pipelines, and providing expert-level support and guidance to artists and other technical artists.


Your Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of cinematic/games/technical art/pipeline production experience, with a proven track record in a technical art role on multiple shipped titles.
  • A bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and align artists, engineers, and leadership.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and/or C#. Experience with C++ is a strong plus.
  • Deep, production-proven expertise with multiple 2D/3D art packages (e.g., Maya, Houdini, Substance Suite) and modern game engines.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain complex tools and pipelines from the ground up.
  • Experience in utilizing AI-assisted development tools (e.g. coding agents) to rapid prototype, accelerate execution and automate workflows, with the ability to critically review and validate AI-generated code.
  • A history of leading the resolution of complex technical issues and a mastery of debugging and optimization techniques.
  • Proven experience in mentoring other technical artists and providing technical leadership on projects.
  • A proactive and forward-thinking mindset, constantly seeking to innovate and solve the next generation of technical art challenges.
  • A deep Passion for Games and a desire to push the boundaries of real-time graphics and content creation.




Pay Transparency - North America
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 
PAY RANGES * British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$122,300 - $170,700 CAD
Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and other incentive programs.
