The Challenge Ahead

For development teams looking to increase efficiencies and improve quality of their software, one of the most important places to focus is the software build process. This is where EA Development Release and Engineering comes in (DRE).
We are looking for a Technology Director(TD) to oversee the technical strategies in the European group. The TD would manage and evolve the roadmap. You'll work with the strategic direction of evolving the Continuous Integration and Deployment systems for the build systems building games such as FIFA, Battlefield, Need for Speed and many more to come. Using tools like Infrastructure as Code and advanced Virtualisation.

Responsibilities

This is a fun and challenging role demanding at least five years of experience from multiple disciplines within software development and practices. The role requires lots of interactions and you like doing that. You will negotiate requirements with senior Technical Directors, developing these into detailed backlog items, and then work with the team to ensure they are delivered as forecasted.

You will grow the team's knowledge and yours, working with the group Technical Director and Development Director. You will report into the Development Director for DRE Europe.

Requirements

  • Experience with CM & CI/CD systems and practices
  • By your experience you have a superb understanding and feel for the full flow of software production, from requirements to deliverables
  • Experience in strategic leadership in a tech domain
  • You know good software architecture
  • You really like networking

Would be useful to have

  • Technical mentoring and interest in people leadership
  • Experience of Jenkins, Gitlab or similar CI software
  • Interest and knowledge of agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of Perforce, vSphere / VMware, server Configuration Management
  • Experience in issue tracking and shared documentation systems such as Jira and Confluence
