Dexerto is looking for an Editorial Assistant who can work from their home as part of the US editorial team. This position is remote, so applicants from outside of the USA are also welcome to apply.
You will be expected to provide essential support that the Dexerto.com editorial team needs. This is a position for a talented, ambitious and passionate individual who is looking to get their first opportunity in the industry. You should be a versatile individual with knowledge of big gaming franchises, esports, and online culture (streamers, YouTubers, plus TikTok and Instagram personalities). Everything that Dexerto is known for.
This is a varied role that will give you the chance to grow your esports and gaming media career in many different ways. One moment you could be updating one of our guides, the next you could be managing our image library, or even writing the odd news story for Dexerto.com.
Other tasks may include posting on the Dexerto network’s many social media platforms, researching features, and sending reports from planning meetings.
With so many different tasks to perform, we are looking for an organized person with great time management skills. You’ll be expected to use content management systems, upload videos, and update our image bank, so you will need to be comfortable with technology and able to pick up new working practices quickly.
You’ll need to have good experience of using social media, either professionally or personally, while some writing experience would also be desirable.
Finally, you have a good work ethic, are able to listen to instructions, and are willing to assist in any tasks you are required to do for the Dexerto team.
Requirements
- Understanding and knowledge of gaming, esports and online culture
- Good organization and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Great communication skills – able to take instruction and keep various members of the team updated on progress
- Some social media experience
- Own computing equipment
- Able to work full-time hours (40) without other education or job commitments
- Some writing experience is desirable, but not essential
