Join the talented Rally team based in our impressive Southam studio set in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside and near the historic town of Leamington Spa.

As a Software Engineer focusing on graphics, this role enables unrivalled opportunity to define and shape the dynamic and visceral world of an unannounced project from the team responsible for the award-winning Dirt Rally series and who have also secured the licencing rights to make the official WRC games, beginning in 2023. The future has never looked so exciting!

Based within the graphics team, you will take ownership of the lighting tech for the engine powering our game. You will oversee large feature-sets such as on-track weather, lighting and time of day experiences. You'll be encouraged to share your opinions amongst the wider team, and make suggestions, ensuring that you can operate with a high degree of autonomy.

We are utilising Unreal on this project so you will have the opportunity to liaise and work closely with other studios who are working with Unreal within EA. Being able to offer regular development opportunities is really important to us. As we are a relatively small tech team, we are subsequently able to work on substantial pieces of varied work. You will also work on multiple projects within Codies. The scale of operation here means there will always be new challenges and career progression.

To be considered for this role, your skills should include:

  • Experience implementing high-end graphics features on 1 or more shipped AAA titles e.g. post-effects, sky boxes, ground cover etc.
  • Shader and GPU programming is essential
  • Modern 3D API knowledge (PC (DX12) and Console)
  • Advanced 3D geometry, pure and applied Maths
  • Use of graphics performance and analysis tools e.g. RenderDoc or PIX

It would be desirable if you have:

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4
  • Parallel programming experience
  • Experience of PBR
  • Experience of Global Illumination techniques
  • Experience of Ray Tracing (e.g. DXR)
  • Assembler programming experience
