As a senior gameplay engineer, you will work with a team of engineers focused on building and improving technology to enable creation of awesome new experiences in Destiny. You will play an integral role in bridging the last mile technology between game design, art, and our engine. Most importantly, you will work with a fun, dedicated, and energetic team continuing to make Destiny one of the best games in the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain production-quality C++ code
  • Collaborate daily with a cross-disciplinary teams to bring amazing game experiences to life
  • Help manage tasks and prioritize work for the team
  • Work with area leadership to ensure feature requests are tracked and support needs are met

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong programming foundation and experience with C/C++
  • Strong math background (trigonometry, linear algebra, calculus, etc...)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers of different technical and non-technical backgrounds to build features and achieve goals
  • Experience working with gameplay simulations
  • Interest in and willingness to manage and mentor engineers

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Experience programming in C#
  • Scripting language familiarity (Lua or others like it)
  • Experience working with:
    • Networked simulations
    • Content creation pipelines
    • Scripting tools
    • Multi-threaded programming
    • Resource constrained platforms
    • Online services

In 2022, most Bungie employees will adopt a flexible schedule working from home part time (outside of positions identified as either 100% onsite or fully remote in CA, FL, IL, NC, TX, and WA).
