Soldiers, scientists, adventurers, oddities…engineers! We are the Overwatch team, passionate gamers at heart, and we’re looking for a new hero to help us make Overwatch 2 - the globe-spanning sequel to Blizzard Entertainment’s acclaimed team-based game.

In Overwatch 2, the nations of Earth are under assault. We are looking for a talented engineer who loves to optimize data layout, I/O throughput and resource management. Our ideal candidate has a passion for games and developing systems on multiple platforms, working in areas like core system architecture, memory management, data formats, local and remote storage, streaming and delivery systems.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Maintain and expand a robust and performant data pipeline for multiple platforms with an eye towards data-layout and packaging.
  • Contribute to general Engine functionality with a focus on:
    • I/O optimizations
    • Data streaming
    • Low-overhead resource-management
  • Maintain tools for performance, stability, and error-free operation.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of C / C++
  • Understanding of game content pipeline and tools
  • Experience working with game engines
  • Experience with code and data optimization
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work in a collaborative team environment

  • Experience with build distribution systems (Incredibuild, SN-DBS)
