Job Description

As the Digital Marketing Manager for Blizzard, this person will play a key role in bringing our social strategy to life across our major franchises, including Warcraft, Overwatch, and Diablo, among others. The ideal candidate will have deep social media experience at an agency or on the client-side, demonstrated strategic prowess, and brought to life smart and clever ideas.

Blizzard has been a leader in entertainment for nearly 30 years, with millions of passionate fans globally. As our franchises expand into new realms, so too must our social reach, engagement, and conversation. We are seeking a candidate who will help lead Blizzard into a new era through social media.

The person in this role primarily works with the Director of Digital Marketing and franchise Social Media Managers, as well as independently as the representative for the Digital Marketing team in cross-functional meetings. The ideal candidate helps develop and optimize our social strategy, brings creative concepts to the table, oversees their production, and manages their distribution across social channels. As major moments and opportunities rotate across Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch, this person is able to jump in with managerial expertise to provide a smart point of view, creative thinking, and executional excellence.

Experience collaborating in a cross-functional environment is required. While game industry experience is not a requirement, previous work across PC, console, and mobile gaming is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Support and execute on our franchise social strategy for Blizzard title launches and live game operations across various social platforms including, but not limited to: Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, etc.
  • Play a key role in social creative ideation, help manage production, and ensure executional success among internal and external creative teams
  • Assist in managing social editorial calendars on key franchises
  • Listen and respond to consumers on our owned channels on a daily basis
  • Collaborate on social media reporting, insights, and delivery through the use of analytics tools, including Sprinklr. Utilize learnings to inform and support the creative approach, as well as drive KPI's across platforms and campaigns
  • Work with external brand partners, developing and executing co-branded initiatives

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in social media at an agency or on the client-side as a Social Strategist or Digital Marketer
  • Self-starter mentality and track-record for clever social ideas
  • Proficiency in collaborating within a large organization
  • Experience in providing creative feedback for social content
  • Passion for gaming, advertising, social media, and all things Blizzard
  • Excellent verbal, organizational, programming language and technology skills
  • Experience working with 3rd Party agencies/partners
  • Knowledge of the latest platforms and technologies and desire to identify opportunities for strategic brand involvement
  • Understanding of brand strategy and ability to write persuasive POVs
  • Working knowledge of social platforms and associated analytics programs and tools like – Sprinklr
