The Associate Artist is responsible creating assets as well as constructing worlds, modeling and texturing architecture and props, and set dressing levels. Working under our Lead Artist, you will collaborate closely with the wider development teams – Concept, Design, and Engineering – to produce engaging and coherent environments

Responsibilities

  • Model and texture beautiful props and environments that support gameplay and drive narratives
  • Translate concept art and design gray box into fully realized levels
  • Create a wide variety of assets ranging from organics to hard-surface props and architecture
  • Deliver assets optimized for UE4, imported with LODs, texture atlases, channel packing, and efficient UE4 materials

Requirements

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Good understanding of composition, color, lighting, and visual storytelling
  • Ability to create interesting, detailed and visually appealing environments
  • Experience in game development crafting playable environments
  • Experience working in 3D software packages including Maya or 3DS Max, and ZBrush
  • Experience with PBR workflows and texture/material authoring packages (Substance Designer/Painter, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Knowledge of optimization techniques for models, textures, materials, levels
  • Excellent time management skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work on a team
  • A real passion for games

Pluses

  • Some experience working on AAA games
  • Experience working with UE4 or equivalent game engines
  • Experience creating textures with Substance Designer
  • Experience with Perforce or other source-control systems

  • Portfolio demonstrating relevant artistic skills required
