Bethesda Game Studios is looking for talented Tools Engineers to join our team in Austin, TX. You must be able to work closely with individuals in the other development disciplines to create effective and efficient workflow solutions including game editor improvements and new pipeline tools. We are interested in all levels of expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and improving tools and content creation workflows
  • Designs and develops additional tools to improve development workflow
  • Participates in code reviews and an agile development process
  • Accurately estimates his/her schedules and delivers high quality work products to that schedule
  • Writes clear, maintainable, portable code

Qualifications

  • 2+ years professional software development experience
  • Solid C++ knowledge
  • Experience developing C# and C++ visual applications
  • Strong communication skills
  • Solid architecture skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to write clear and maintainable code

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to fearlessly jump into large, existing code bases
  • Knowledge of rapid internal tool development with web services and similar
  • Knowledge of the following is a plus:
    • UI: MFC, WPF, QT
    • Database: mongodb, MsSQl, Sqlite
    • Language: Python, JavaScript
    • Web tech: PHP, JSON, REST, Angular
  • Game industry experience focused on content creation tool pipelines
  • Strong familiarity with Bethesda Game Studios games
