Beeline is a leading worldwide developer and publisher of games for mobile phone platforms. A wholly owned subsidiary of Capcom with offices in Los Angeles and Vancouver, Beeline’s mission is to explore free-to-play, Esports and social gaming concepts in the mobile space. Using Capcom’s marque brands including Mega Man®, Street Fighter® and Resident Evil® as a foundation, the company seeks to bring online social competitive gameplay to the mobile masses.

The Game Designer reports to the organization’s Senior Platform Producer and shall have significant interaction with Beeline’s new mobile Esports Platform initiative as well as all game development teams creating content for that core Platform.

As an engaging contributor and clear communicator within a start-up environment, you will help define and document the core consumer facing game design features of our mobile Esports Platform across all games in the portfolio and contribute to the day-to-day development to ensure consistent execution of that design consistently across all games. You will also design and document the necessary Platform LiveOps tools and processes needed to support Marketing to facilitate live events, promotions and other activities that cultivate the ongoing engagement of our players with the core game design features.

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a start-up, fast-paced and dynamic development environment with a proven record of successful design development experience in the social casino, betting, fantasy sports or mobile gaming industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the design, documentation and execution of the common consumer facing Platform game features and development into each game consistently to meet player engagement and revenue goals
  • Own the design and execution of LiveOps tools and processes to support Esport features (Tournaments, Leaderboards, Spectator Mode, etc), special events and promotions
  • Review competitive products and continue to be an expert within the mobile Esports business
  • Help define the consumer facing feature roadmap with attention on how design supports conversion drivers, retention, engagement, compulsion loops and monetization with consumer insight analysis
  • Ensure game design features are developed effectively, timely and consistently across all games
  • Work collaboratively with team leads and producers across multiple game teams to ensure project needs are clearly defined, effectively communicated and addressed
  • Report on the project status and schedule on a regular basis, providing transparency with upper management and the development teams
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, in particular Production, Engineering, Product Design, Product Marketing and Analytics to ensure latest game features are designed to hit strategic business goals and are continually updated and refined accordingly with latest information and insights
  • Continually engage users with a flawless execution of live operations
  • Develop a deep understanding of the tools available to develop a calendar of events and promotions while recommending new additions
  • Contribute to the broader business including marketing programs, contests, promotions and player acquisition strategies, as well as product management and creative development, based on an intimate and detailed understanding of the metrics and product dynamics.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience developing and executing game project plans
  • Experience working in a startup organization and collaborating with multiple development teams
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Proven experience with the development of high profile entertainment and software products
  • Strong knowledge of the software/game market and platforms
