The Senior Manager, Quality Assurance is responsible for leading teams within Production Services with the broader department and global strategy in mind. In particular, this person will oversee QA operations and policies in an effort to tie activities to WW quality initiatives, and align efforts strategically with other Production Services teams (e.g. Release Management, Production, and Localization). Incumbent is responsible for managing full-time and temporary employees across multiple game platforms. Responsibilities of position will work closely with Executive Staff, Producers, Project Managers, QA Teams, Localization, Sales, Marketing and others groups to provide services and solutions. This person will exhibit outstanding leadership and mentoring capabilities and use those skills to facilitate the career development of employees.

Flexible, Remote and Work From Home options are available for this position until approximately April 2022. Afterwards we expect all employees to join us at our new offices in Irvine, California where a hybrid work schedule will be observed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The ability to be pro-active in understanding, directing, and executing initiatives (with an emphasis on QA and Compliance) to meet organizational business needs
  • Manage the Quality Assurance department, maintain a strong leadership team that follows industry best practices
  • Must possess strong communication skills in providing clear, concise direction and information at all levels of the organization
  • Creates and directs new processes and procedure to ensure efficiency in our release management
  • Proactively set policies, objectives and direction based on company goals and objectives
  • Determines staffing needs for all products, and hires, trains and maintains high performance test teams for successful product rollout
  • Develops and maintains QA budgets, responsible for invoice processing incurred by QA department
  • WW ratings management for our projects
  • Creates clear career paths for the QA department with an emphasis for lateral movement between other Production Services departments
  • Manage and foster good relationships with development teams and external groups
  • Communicate findings of test and release management teams to executive staff and development teams
  • Manage and promote new and innovative methodologies, with an emphasis on QA
  • Develops reporting metrics to track effectiveness of Quality Assurance and other Production Services departments
  • Works closely with development teams to develop, evaluate, implement, and improve test processes and procedures
  • Ensures services exceed expectations both internally and externally
  • Creates and manages budgets for our product lineups

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • 10 + years’ experience in Quality Assurance, Submissions and Release Management, or game development; with 5 + years’ experience managing a game Quality Assurance department
  • Excellent knowledge of development and Quality Assurance processes, procedures, and practices
  • Proven hiring and performance management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, multitasking and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities based on company goals and objectives
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills in handling difficult situations with the ability to negotiate and recommend solutions to all levels of management
  • Excellent knowledge of current video games and systems
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Bug Tracking Software
  • Strong understanding of testing and debugging techniques

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent with relevant course work acceptable
