Avalanche Studios Group and its creative division Systemic Reaction is looking for a Tools Programmer to join a top-tier, experienced team to help craft expressive and effective tools and pipelines.

The Position

As a Tools Programmer within our team, your main responsibility will be to build, maintain and support user-friendly, yet advanced tools to be used by a range of disciplines in multiple titles in development. You will also work with our content pipeline to allow maximum efficiency for our content creators.

The ideal candidate has an interest in application development, usability and workflows, and has a strong drive to make the best possible tools. You will write tools for non-technical team members, and support those people and tools through iteration and refinement. Above all, you have a keen awareness of the success criteria for your work - empowered, fulfilled and effective tools users.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent programming skills in C/C++
  • Experience of C++ Qt or equivalent framework
  • At least 3 years of professional tools development
  • Good communication skills and thrives as a member of a team

Beneficial Experience

  • Proven track record in ability to identify user requirements workflows
  • Knowledge of Python for application development
  • Expertise in Human / Machine interaction and interface design
  • Windows application development
  • Experience with 3D asset content pipelines such as Maya
  • Experience with deploying applications on both Windows and Linux platforms
  • An interest in driving or owning studio-scale tools implementations
  • Appreciation of UX / UI principles
