The Position

Avalanche Studios Group is looking for a Technical Development Coordinator to work within our Publishing Services Team, whose focus is on providing cross-divisional support in the cultivation of sustainable game development practices.

As a member of the DevOps Team: you’ll be an advocate for our game development teams, specialized in driving and championing operational improvements. This role will focus on improving our games’ development processes, pipelines, and internal tools; optimizing for stability and quality in our game builds with an assist from the tech solutions we can muster.

This role will be in frequent contact with ASG’s Game Development Teams, IT, Central Tech, Release Management, Backend Systems, and members of each Division’s Management Team.

What you'll be doing:

Developing skills to:

  • Assist technical leadership in their support of game development teams:
    • Coordinate and conduct discovery and analysis of current state, including process, culture, and technology capabilities
    • Collate and refine detailed functional and nonfunctional requirements in order to inform future state design
    • Conduct solution analysis, testing, and provides guidance on common industry practices and technologies
    • Collaborate with developers, engineers, and our other support teams to design, deploy, manage, and document integrated processes and pipelines.
    • Work with our specialists across teams to define requirements for new solutions, and identify best practices that will guide the development of future game titles.
    • Architect, design, troubleshoot, and improve upon highly-scalable and high-performing process ecosystems
    • Drive the planning, creation, optimization, and/or rollout of improvements for high performance, scalable, and reliable internal support mechanisms
    • Collaborate with Build Engineers, Production, and Programming Leads to design and/or adapt development ecosystems to suit project needs.
    • Identify, communicate, and resolve risks/conflicts that may arise between technical support teams and game development teams
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and investigate opportunities for workflow improvement
  • Collaborate with developers and engineers to design, deploy, manage and document Pipelines.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in technical areas of project development (eg technical QA, build engineering, technical project management, IT development)
  • 2+ years of leadership experience within IT, QA, Programming, or other technical team
  • Clear communication skills coupled with a strong desire for personal development and learning
  • Curiosity paired with creative problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working independently, within a small strike team, and between teams
  • Ability to conduct deep dives into tech sys/infrastructure, and identify interdependencies
  • Inclined toward careful and diligent information-tracking
  • Comfortable driving (or assisting to drive) updates to game studio infrastructure and tools
  • Operational at multiple zoom levels; enjoys the weeds as much as the 1,000 ft view
  • Some familiarity with: Perforce Helix (or other VCS), Hansoft, Jira, Jenkins
