Avalanche Studios Group is now seeking a talented, decisive Lead Programmer to guide a growing, high performing team creating the systems needed to make Contraband a fun and engaging game in the long term.
In this role you’ll be designing, implementing, extending and supporting the different parts that make up Contraband’s live service ecosystem on top of our proprietary Apex engine. Since Contraband is a multiplayer game, any features that you work on will need to be developed with this in mind.
You will lead a team consisting of both gameplay systems and backend programmers. Previous experience in a technical leadership role and proven ability to work with multiple systems and stakeholders is a definite advantage.
As a lead programmer you’ll vet proposed designs for technical feasibility and development cost and advocate for the opportunities, risks, and needs of the programmer discipline within the larger team. The role will require highly developed leadership and mentoring ability to compliment the prerequisite technical skills required of a senior programmer.

Required Qualifications:
Experience working in a highly collaborative environment
Experience working as a Senior or Principal programmer in the games industry, and desire to lead and mentor other programmers
Experience working on at least one live service game
Able to write readable, robust and performant C++ code, and review the work of others
