Auroch Digital is a Bristol-based videogame developer with a passion for making games that relate to and deal with real-world issues. We work on original titles, partnerships, and work-for-hire projects – specialising in strategy, retro, porting and, digital tabletop games –including Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, Brewmaster, and Mars Horizon.

Day in the Life of a Marketing Manager:

As a Marketing Manager at Auroch Digital, being proactive will be key in your role; you'll constantly be identifying marketing needs and collaborating closely with your teammates to support the execution of marketing strategies. You will immerse yourself in planning marketing activities and developing KPIs to measure campaign success, delivering comprehensive reports for all integrated marketing campaigns. Data analysis will be a vital part of your day-to-day, as you gather and analyse project data to shape your strategies effectively.

But, it's not all behind-the-scenes work; you'll also be the face of Auroch Digital across various social channels like Discord, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, engaging with our community, fostering positivity, and answering player questions alongside the development team. You will craft compelling social posts, including paid social activities, as well as create engaging TikTok content. You'll create social content that elevates the studio's visibility and culture, aiding recruitment efforts and strengthening B2B relationships. Additionally, you'll support internal community engagement initiatives and maintain relationships with press and content creators, ensuring Auroch Digital remains at the forefront of the indie gaming scene by staying updated on best practices through blogs, newsletters, and industry events.

Please note, you need to be UK based to be considered for this role. This role can be done remotely within the UK.

This is a fixed-term contract until 20th December 2024.

What you need to do this job:

  • Marketing experience within the Games industry, with a significant contribution to the launch of at least one title.

  • Experience managing an online community.

  • Experience writing and building marketing emails through software such as Mailchimp (or similar software).

  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and responsibility for projects from planning to execution.

  • Excellent knowledge of current game marketing trends and gamer culture.

  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders, working with them to optimise campaigns, and reporting back.

  • Use data and KPIs to assess integrated marketing campaign performance.

  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively both verbally and in writing.

Interview Process:

At Auroch, we want a holistic and engaging interview process that allows us to get to know you, your skills and your potential. For our Marketing Manager role, we will do a 1 stage interview process with a task involved.

1st Stage: 1-hour with our Marketing and Comms Director and Lead Marketing Manager. You will be given a task prior to interview to complete and discuss. This task should take no longer than 30 mins to complete. We will talk with you about your experience, our expectations in the role and ask some competency-based questions. There will, of course, be opportunities for you to ask questions!
