Game Technology Integration Specialist (L7)

Our cross-functional gaming team focuses on increasing technology adoption of cloud computing by engaging directly with technical leaders, C-level executives and influencers at all levels across the industry. AWS is looking for a WW Game Technology Integration Leader who understands business trends impacting the game industry, and is passionate and capable of driving market development across the sector globally. With a focus on the most popular game engines, the Technology Integration Leader will drive new business growth through strategic integrations with the Unity and Unreal Game Engines, working across functions to improve AWS support of these engines, and developing a cross-industry success plan that results in exceptional AWS customer experiences.

The right candidate will have successful industry experience interacting at the highest levels of game companies, demonstrated experience in developing new business in companies of all sizes, and a deep understanding of how developers leverage engines to solve development challenges. This person will have a thorough understanding of the games industry, a proven track record of leading and driving multiple complex programs to meet business objectives, a customer-obsessed and collaborative approach, a strong data and metrics bias, and a passion for helping game companies innovate and create new and exciting player experiences! They will also have experience and knowledge of product development, game back end infrastructure, and live operation processes used by developers and publishers.

Role & Responsibilities

Serve as a key member of the global Games Specialist team to define and execute on a strategic market development plan for technical integration with key game development engines.
Establish technical credibility and drive discussions with C-level stakeholders and key influencers within engine, middleware, partner, and customer development teams and partners.
Understand how enterprise customers across multiple industries, including games, media and entertainment, automotive, manufacturing, architecture, mining, CPG, real estate, and energy utilize game engines within their own product/solution development.
Advocate on behalf of our customers on how AWS integration with game engines can be improved to successfully address customer needs.
Work with internal development teams and external vendors to develop engine integration roadmaps, support development work with relevant business cases, and prioritize feature requests based on customer needs and expected impact.
Present business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks within key accounts.
Manage complex contractual negotiations with Technology partners and the extended worldwide GSI and ISV partner ecosystem.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Must have work experience of game development processes across multiple platforms including mobile, PC, and Console.
5+ years of relevant work experience in game production, game live operations, solutions development, product management, product marketing, business development, and/or transformation roles in the game industry.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

A passion for Games! – Exceptional understanding of how the games industry operates and the unique characteristics and culture of the developer community.
A thorough understanding of how and why the Unity and Unreal engines are used in game development, including business models, technical architecture, cloud infrastructure integration, cross-industry relevance, strengths/weaknesses, and market diversification strategies for each engine.
Working knowledge of how cloud infrastructure is used in game development by studios of all sizes.
Understand the use of salesforce.com and other internal Amazon systems.
Passion for cloud technologies – deep understanding of public and hybrid cloud platforms and their relevance to game development.
Technical knowledge of games industry engines, platforms, and middleware, with an ability to go deep on technical aspects to understand current and future customer needs.
Experience developing, implementing, and growing external go-to-market relationships that improve customer outcomes and enable great player experiences.
Understanding of how the Unreal and Unity engines are used in industries other than games.
Excellent business and financial acumen and negotiations skills.
Operational excellence mind-set and experience. Data driven. Excellent problem-solving skills. Adept at simplifying complexity and developing scalable propositions.
Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results. Ability to effectively lead and work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills. Experience communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams.

This position must be located at one of our U.S. AWS Corp. offices with a preference for San Francisco, CA.
