Come join the new Amazon Games Montreal Studio!

We are looking for a Principal 3D Artist. Help us build the new Montreal Studio and be part of a team of highly skilled and experienced developers who share the commitment to creating best-in-class online games.

You will be a founding member of the studio and contribute to the creation of a AAA project, an online multiplayer title based on a new IP.

You will draw on your experiences and talent to establish the look, design and create 3D characters and environments. You possess strong knowledge of all aspects of 3D assets creation, are a self-motivated team player and have a strong sense of vision to create high-quality assets. You will collaborate with peers who enjoy an inclusive communication style and are player centric, resourceful, and team oriented. If you want to be part of a creative process and contribute to creating memorable characters and environments for our players, this role may be an ideal fit for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce high quality assets in line with and influencing the game vision.
  • Set quality benchmarks on different types of assets
  • Experiment with latest tools and technique to raise the quality bar
  • Work closely with the team and external partners to ensure that quality is consistent, cohesive and aligned
  • Increase the team’s skills through mentorship and artistic techniques

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in 3D asset production (characters, environments) for AAA games
  • 8+ years of digital content creation and underlying technology and tools
  • Online portfolio demonstrating art skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge of Maya / Modo / MudBox / ZBrush, Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter or equivalent package
  • Strong grasp of form, shape, structure, silhouette, anatomy as they relate to character modeling
  • Great eye for light, shade, color, and detail in creating texture maps.
  • Able to articulate pipeline requirements to improve 3d assets quality output
  • Ability to learn new tools and techniques
  • Ability to mentor and share knowledge effectively
  • Good working knowledge of French and/or English
