Your Mission

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced marketer to join the ANZ publishing team who look after some of the most iconic franchises in gaming- including World of Warcraft, Diablo and Overwatch. The ideal Brand Manager applicant possesses not only a deep understanding of marketing strategy and branding, but also a keen appreciation for the roles Community, PR, Web, Creative, and of course, the Game Developers play in creating outstanding publishing moments for the present and future of the franchise. This role requires an individual who is focused, driven, diplomatic and creative, with a strong passion for gaming. This person will be responsible for a wide range of brand development activities, including go-to-market strategic planning and execution for the Australia and New Zealand region.

Responsibilities

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Drive the overall planning and execution of the franchise commercial plan with the rest of the go-to-market organisation and close partnership with regional franchise and functional leaders.

  • Steward ANZ player and market needs across all facets of global and regional campaign development

  • Lead with ambitious, clear, and inspiring annual regional growth strategies.

  • Support and lead the campaign briefing process with various stakeholders, including internal cross-functional teams.

  • Aggregate input from cross functional teams (marketing, PR, social, community, etc) but be the single voice of truth on comprehensive return on investment and performance of ANZ campaigns and growth initiatives.

  • Manage ANZ franchise brand activities, live operations, publishing calendars and budget tracking for the brand. Facilitate and streamline processes established in coordination with global development and publishing, as well as ANZ management.

  • Lead and encourage cross functional & development teams regarding franchise day-to-day operations, publishing tactics & business updates.

  • Develop and promote a deep understanding of the franchise ecosystem (gameplay, business, community, etc.) in the specific context of the ANZ market.

  • Generate and follow up on business reporting (in partnership with Insights and Analytics and finance) related to monetisation, in game metrics and franchise engagement.

  • Develop best in class acquisition and engagement campaigns from inception to launch. Including writing briefs, working cross functionally with creative teams, and tracking results.

  • Own goals and performance metrics for campaigns; monitor regularly to understand effectiveness of strategy and creative, making recommendations for continuous improvement through post campaign analysis and reporting.

  • Work with our internal and external media and creative agencies to develop and optimise highly relevant execution strategies, to achieve key business metrics.

  • Stay current with competitor launches, marketing programmes and sales performance in the region and beyond.

  • Support Annual Operating Plans in ANZ. Own translation of global brand strategies, in a manner consistent with fact-based business plan building.

  • Meet or exceed the Operating Income goals by taking a profit-maximisation approach to Marketing and Brand Management.

  • Clearly communicate strategies, risks, and opportunities for assigned brands to all levels of the organisation.

  • Drive and lead local partnerships with 1st party platform partners with a focus on delivery of added value over and above contractual agreement.

  • Support ANZ esports programmes, working with internal and external leaders and partners, to build on our leadership position in the esports ecosystem.

  • Build relationships with external local business partners and influencers, seek to drive on-strategy programmes that strengthen each franchise in the ANZ marketplace, assure first class execution of local franchise programs.

Player Profile:

Experience

  • Has 5+ years of direct work experience in publishing, marketing, product management or strategic planning with a minimum of 3 years’ working in the video game, entertainment or technology industry.

  • Experience with in-product customer journeys and analytics

Knowledge & Skills

  • In depth knowledge of the ANZ video games industry and broad understanding of channels within (social, retail, media, platforms such as console, PC and mobile).

  • Excellent organization skills, acute attention to detail, ability to balance multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced and time sensitive environment.

  • Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically and to work collaboratively and cross functionally with internal and external teams.

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
