ZeniMax Media is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to support our Tango Gameworks Studio located in Tokyo, Japan. This position will provide hands on HR support in various functional areas which include but are not limited to full cycle recruitment, employee relations and performance management. The ideal candidate would be an enthusiastic team player who is self-motivated, provides excellent customer service and solutions focused.

Responsibilities

Group Liaison & Internal Communications

  • Promote company culture across the assigned business areas.

  • Localize & communicate the group-wide Human Resources initiatives, practices, and policies.

  • Communicate Japan local information– local practice changes, local events etc.

Business partnering

  • Partner with the business leaders and internal clients/stakeholders and identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions to drive the business forward.

HR Operations (global)

  • Promote & execute HR policies, compliance, compulsory training programs, HR related systems.

  • Employment contract and its related legal administration.

  • On-boarding: on-boarding paperwork’s, on-boarding training, and new joiner follow-up.

  • Off-boarding: exit paperwork, exit survey & interview.

HR Operation (local)

  • Manage and maintain Work-rule (Shugyo kisoku) and its related rules in Japan.

  • Manage Statutory requirements- health check, stress-check, company doctor.

  • Manage Government reporting.

Immigration

  • Provide the work visa support service by working with the external legal partner.

Payroll

  • Report the monthly payment request to HQ Payroll.

  • Manage Payroll, Social Insurance and other statutory requirements.

  • Provide payroll, Social Insurance support by working with external legal partner.

Employee Services

  • Provide the support to the employees when needed – could be career discussion, dialogue and/or the required paperwork assistance.

Compensation

  • Manage job descriptions, job analysis, job evaluations and job classifications.

  • Work on the annual merit and bonus cycles by working with the leaders.

  • Conduct ongoing research into emerging trends, issues and best practices.

Benefits

  • Provide the global & local benefits support by working with HQ benefits team.

  • Organize the benefit related administration and activities – happy hour, seasonal event etc.

  • Manage benefit provide vendors.

Development & performance management

  • Collaborate with managers to do the needs analysis.

  • Manage the annual performance review and off-cycle reviews when necessary.

  • Manage the regular check-in and Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

  • Facilitate the basic trainings as needed – workplace/labour law, interview skill, harassment prevention, managers trainings, etc.

  • Manage training providers as needed.

Lateral Recruiting

  • Work with the business leaders and identify the hiring needs within the budget.

  • Employer branding activities included – building the recruiting pitch, presentation, brochure etc. to attract the talent in the highly competitive gaming industry.

  • Manage full life cycle recruitment for all positions including sourcing high quality candidates and building talent pools for critical roles.

  • Manage the resume/portfolio screening, initial phone screening, interview setup etc.

University Recruiting

  • Liaise with schools (career centers and/or faculty), organizing school visits & company presentations.

  • Leverage the local university recruiting platform (e.g. MyNavi) to build the candidate pool.

  • Provide logistical & administrative support related to keeping those university candidates who have accepted our offers – including but not limited to organizing pre-hire events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business or related discipline.

  • 7+ years of HR Generalist and recruiting experience, preferably in entertainment, tech related industry

  • Experience with working with large scale and complex multi-national organization

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proven stakeholder management experience

  • Proven ability to exercise good judgment and discretion as HR as well as IP business.

  • Strong project management skill

  • Native-level Japanese.

  • Business-level English (TOEIC 800 plus)
