This is a fully remote, full-time, contractor position.

We're VOID Interactive, the kickass team behind the best-selling FPS game, Ready or Not. We're made up of some seriously talented individuals who love games and creating awesome content together. We’re seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Environment Artist to join us remotely and help us elevate Ready or Not to new heights. Our goal is strong: to establish Ready or Not as the quintessential FPS of our time.

As an Environment Artist, you'll be the visionary architect of the worlds players will explore. You will be tasked with sculpting intricate environments that captivate our players and bring Ready or Not to life. With your artistic talents, every environment will serve as a canvas, enhancing both gameplay and narrative immersion.

In this role, you'll be in charge of:

  • Collaborating with the art director and game designers to conceptualize and design captivating game environments.
  • Creating detailed 3D models of environmental assets and applying textures and materials for visual effects.
  • Optimization of environmental assets for performance across gaming platforms, including polygon reduction and LOD implementation.
  • Designing elements to convey narrative details and enhance player engagement through world-building.
  • Testing and debugging environmental assets to ensure they meet quality standards and gameplay requirements.
  • Staying updated on industry trends and collaborating effectively with team members to achieve project goals.

Of course, you won't be alone on this mission - you'll be collaborating with the entire team and outside vendors to ensure we're maximizing our efforts and achieving our goals!

Here’s what you'll be bringing to the team:

  • Demonstrated expertise in 3D level art creation, showcasing a keen eye for detail, composition and aesthetics.
  • 3+ years of hands-on environment art experience within the gaming industry or a related field, ideally with involvement in at least one released title.
  • Enthusiastic about embracing new software tools and technologies to enhance artistic capabilities and stay at the forefront of industry trends.
  • In-depth familiarity with Unreal Engine, essential for executing tasks efficiently within the development pipeline.
  • Capable of working autonomously with a high level of self-direction and motivation, ensuring consistent progress and quality in assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrates a natural inclination towards creativity coupled with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and adept time management abilities, facilitating seamless collaboration and efficient task completion.
  • Proven ability to collaborate within a team environment, thriving under deadlines and time constraints while maintaining a positive and constructive attitude.
