Revenue Accountant

The opportunity

Join Unity's Revenue Accounting team and support accurate revenue reporting for Unity Grow, one of the world's largest mobile advertising and monetization platforms. The platform follows a consumption-based revenue model, where revenue is earned from ad impressions, clicks, and installs.Reporting to the Revenue Manager, you will support month-end close, revenue reconciliations, and day-to-day revenue accounting. You will work with the Operations, Product, Sales, and Data teams to ensure revenue, billing, and partner payouts are recorded accurately. You will also gain experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition in a fast-paced ad-tech environment. Your work will help improve Unity's financial reporting, audit readiness, and SOX compliance.

This is a hybrid role with three in-office days (Tuesday to Thursday). Working hours are 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

What you’ll be doing

• Execute the close processes for revenue, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and close schedules, in accordance with established SOX controls and internal control requirements.

• Perform revenue, billing, payout, and collections reconciliations across high-volume transactions with appropriate control documentation.

• Analyze and support disputes, adjustments, cancellations, rebills, and partner corrections impacting revenue and payouts.

• Prepare variance (flux) analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, audit schedules, and SOX control support with clear documentation.

• Drive process improvements and automation while ensuring continued compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.

What we’re looking for

• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606, with hands-on experience in revenue accounting, close, and reporting processes.

• Knowledge in monthly closing procedures, strong ability in preparing Balance sheet reconciliation and calculations. Experience with SOX compliance 

• Strong Excel / data handling skills to reconcile large transaction-level datasets.

• Understanding of billing, partner payouts, adjustments, disputes, cancellations, and rebills accounting flows.

• Experience supporting internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules, responses to queries, and maintaining documentation in compliance with SOX and internal control requirements.

• CA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting certification

• Exposure to enterprise financial systems and reporting tools such as Workday, NetSuite

• Experience working in a Big 4 or public company environment, preferably within a SOX-compliant reporting framework.

This range reflects the anticipated base salary for this position. Beyond base salary, this role may be eligible for equity awards and participation in our company incentive plans (such as annual discretionary bonuses or sales commissions). The final offer amount will depend on several factors, including geographic location and the candidate’s relevant experience, professional background, and skill set.
