As a Senior Technical Designer, you will join the team responsible for several gameplay features on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and continue their mission to develop exciting, challenging, and forward-thinking features and quests.
You will act as a solution finder and liaison between designers and other disciplines to help shape the architecture for new game systems as well as create and implement the more complex technical design elements into the game. Equally, you will advocate and shape production efficiency and product quality, both for system development and level creation.
Be responsible for the realization and implementation of the technical elements of a complete feature of the game in an autonomous way by collaborating closely with the designers, programmers, or other professionals.
Actively participate in the production of prototypes to adjust and validate features and systems prior to production and assess the success of these prototypes by measuring how objectives are met.
Proactively identify major design roadblocks and work to find solutions to improve team workflow and productivity.
Develop technical guidelines for level and game design (best practices)
Establish the procedure for creating worlds, progression systems, and 3Cs
Act as a technical reference in the team, support and advise peers, as needed.
Participate in the advanced debugging of the data until the very end of production.
Stay up to date on best practices to keep up with the industry & develop your skills and refresh your knowledge.
Monitor and evaluate worlds, progression systems, and 3Cs to provide technical coaching for designers.
Perform feasibility tests, optimizations and validate AI behavior and performances.
Regularly evaluate the different tools and pipelines and identify improvements.
At least 4-5 years of professional experience as a Technical Designer – preferably on AAA console titles.
Relevant scripting experience with such as python, C#, or visual scripting
Strong understanding of software engineering principles
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Easy to understand and communicate in technical language.
Critical thinking, curiosity, resourcefulness, and plenty of flexibility
Relevant working experience in data handling.
Ability to sift through data and come to meaningful conclusions.
