Every day, tens of millions of people come to Roblox to explore, create, play, learn, and connect with friends in 3D immersive digital experiences– all created by our global community of developers and creators.

At Roblox, we’re building the tools and platform that empower our community to bring any experience that they can imagine to life. Our vision is to reimagine the way people come together, from anywhere in the world, and on any device. We’re on a mission to connect a billion people with optimism and civility, and looking for amazing talent to help us get there.

A career at Roblox means you’ll be working to shape the future of human interaction, solving unique technical challenges at scale, and helping to create safer, more civil shared experiences for everyone.

As a Software Engineer, Communications Safety, you'll build the chat and communication systems that let people and creators express themselves better than in real life, and keep them safe at scale. You will work with various teams (Game Engine, Safety, ML platform) and products including backend services working at high scale, data pipelines, ML models, and tools to strengthen underlying chat and policy infrastructure to support reliability, safety, and flexibility, while enabling new communication products. You'll also have the opportunity to make direct contributions to core communication Roblox products, ensuring safety is woven into the foundation of the platform itself.

  • Experience collaborating with backend engineers on client/server design and architecture for high-scale products, including knowledge of performance principles like caching and modern technologies.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners in Product, Design, and Data Science to drive meaningful results that align with the team's overarching vision
